The PAOBA Princess/Prince Contest is an opportunity for youth aged 14-24 to compete for the statewide title. Each contestant had to submit an application, write an essay, be interviewed by a panel of judges and meet and greet the public at the 2019 PAOBA Halter Showcase that was held at the Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall, PA on March 9 & 10, 2019.
Each contestant is an ambassador for the growing industry of alpaca breeders and owners in our state. These talented young ladies are bright and knowledgeable about alpacas, their care, their purposes, and how they are used in the fashion industry. Each is a valuable resource to the community in which they serve. The Alpaca Court will be appearing at the MAPACA Jubilee the weekend of April 26-28, 2019 at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA, the PAOBA Fleece Show and Educational Weekend in August in State College, PA, National Alpaca Farm Open House Days the last weekend of September, and the 2020 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, PA in January, 2020.
To request an appearance by the 2019 Alpaca Princess at your farm or special event, please contact paoba@gmail.org or Princess Program Coordinators:

They can speak with the visitors and help handle your animals. Princesses draw attention. If nothing more, people are curious. Once that person stops to see what the princess is doing or about, they hear information about your products or your animals.
